I enjoy anime and Mangle just like everybody else in this club; However, I believe that this club needs some direction. The meetings that we have right now are just watch a couple episode then go on break where everybody mingles in their own individual cliques. What we need is to have some group mentality to discuss or bring are interests together. Whether it is a debate between club members on what we should watch next week or if it is to decide if manga is better than anime. Should doujinshi work be treated just as highly as the original illustrations or should it be shunned as plagarism? The club as it is has no direction, no drive, and that explains why we were shafted into Holtz Hall. The officers especially need to be concerned with the well being of the club instead of doing their homework inbetween episodes. I just think it would be nice to have a club that wanted to do make a mark in the educational system to where we do not have to petition for a place to be or to fight for the right to exist. I also think that the club is too discriminate against manga, cosplay, gaming, and other anime related materials. We should try to bring in a more diverse audience instead of just the watcher. Maybe have a manga swap meeting, or a meeting where we have a tournament to see who is the best import fighter. Anyway, like I was saying we just need to have some direction to bring in new members, and keep them coming because they want to take part in what we are doing.

I like the current format, but it would be cool to have extra meetings that focus on other anime-related things. Having too many things going on could make the club into one big stress-fest, especially for those organizing the events. I bet if some people wanted to organize something the officers might offer guidance (I can't speak on their behalf, of course). Every semester I've been around the club they're done things outside of the regular meetings, like swap meets and marathons. It seems like a really informal, laid back club, and I really like that.
<bad joke>As for having direction, what kind of "mark in the educational system" do you think we should make? I have no desire to take over the world, though conquering Ayres 106 would be nice </bad joke> I don't think the club actively discriminates against anything. Having new members would be cool, since I'm sure many of the old ones will be graduating eventually.

I thank you for your opinion, however I do not want to take over the world: yet. . . Anyway, I just would like some group unity and a show that everybody cares. If we just want an after school problem than I think we could all just watch anime at our own houses. I believe we all come together to meet other that enjoy the same things as we do. However, with the silent club that we have, it limits group communication.

I'm not sure i entirely follow but we do have eat with the officers on monday nights after club. Also we do have outside of club events. The big one on all of the officers minds right now is Chico Mini-con which is a lot more work than you might think. Last semester we had a video game tournament, several cosplay workshops and a marathon for Halloween. Theme weeks are where you bring something in that relates to the theme of the week and it gives you a free conversation starter as long as you are not bashing the person for their decision. For example, last semester we had a figurines and plushies week and I brought a Luffy figure. Next week is Favorite series so make sure to bring something in. If you have any other suggestions on what we should be doing, please let us know. If it is possible and will make club more enjoyable, we will see what we can do to include it.

If you look at some of our past schedules, you can see some of the special events and activities we've done in the past. In the fall we hold a Video Game Tournament and Swap Meet. We also had Cosplay Workshops in October this year. The idea behind theme weeks is that it gives people a chance to show off some of the items in their collections and gives people something to talk about during the breaks. Accompanying each theme week is a thread on the forum to promote further discussion. I know it seems like there isn't as many outside events in the spring semester, this is due to the Mini Con, as it such a big event. It takes a lot of time and resources even though it is a joint project with the CBC. We actually receive funding from the school for this event, they really don't despise us that much (being exiled to Holt Hall is a bit of a joke). Last year was the first year we held the Mini Con and we had karaoke, art contests (for both original and fanart), a swap meet, video games, a cosplay contest, and even a game show. The turnout was a lot bigger than we had expected last year. I think we had over 70 people show up. I wouldn't be surprised if we had a bigger turnout this year. Just about every Monday there's an unofficial get together where a whole group of us go and get food after club so feel free to join us. We typically talk about everything from video games to what happened in the episodes we just watched. Also we're always looking for new events to add so if you think of any good ideas please let us know

If I weren't afraid of getting thrashed by the admin for thrashing the crap out of you I would share a few more choice words, than what i have written below, with your rtard self. 1. If you don't like the way things are going in the club and just want to flame on our forums you don't have to come, no one is forcing you to come. 2. You have way too much time on your hands to flame our good officers who spend a lot of their time trying to make this club better, so lay off or GTFO. 3. LEARN TO F**KING TYPE, USE PROPER GRAMMAR, SEPARATE PARAGRAPHS, AND SPELL CORRECTLY. ENGLISH MOTHER F**KER, DO YOU SPEAK IT? 4. If you have a problem with us going places after club as fun, you have no f**king right to question that. We have invited any club member who wants to go, so you can go in your mom's basement and make your own club where you can have a circle jerk and you can be the cracker. 5. My sincere apologies to the good members of the club who are reading this and whose brains I have destroyed in the process. Sorry about the caps lock as well on line 3, but I wanted to get a point across. With that I end my flaming of this prick, for now. -MasterShihoChief Supreme Commander Covenant Battle Net High Command

I believe that nothing can be gained by allowing this thread to continue, so I will be locking it. Please DO NOT start a new thread for this topic. And just so we end on something nice, here are some cat macros:
