What do you like best about cosplay? Is it being your favorite character, seeing cool costumes, seeing other show their fandom for one of your favorite series, or is it something more?
What do you think of cosplay? Interesting, a useless hobby that can't amount to anything, the ideal(ized) aspect that will turn your fandom for anime skyrocketing?
Have you cosplayed? Want to? As who/what?

I like how devoted the fans are who spend the time and money to acquire nice costumes. I also like to see the real quality costumes. I think some people need to stop. It's cool, but only to a certain extent. No more seven foot tall men dressed as Sailor Scouts, and, for the love of all that exists, NO MORE MAN-FAYE!!! Unless you count Halloween, I've never cosplayed. I was going to for SacAnime in 2006, but that didn't work out. Then, I was trying for Gene Starwind (some of you may remember my hair was still red at the beginning of the semester). I've thought about going as Kintaro, before, and recently, I've thought about cosplaying as Reno. I'd have to cut the front of my hair for either, though. Other than that, I've been looking for characters. On a side note, since I don't have any money, actually cosplaying is a little difficult.

wow thats so cool
ive cosplayed as Ino from Naruto at FanimeCon. Though I want to improve it. [No Picture] and as Kumiko Yamaguchi from Gokusen I'm working on Mahoro from Mahoromatic, Midori from Midori no Hibi and many others. I need more wigs.
I like cosplay because I want to be able to express myself through hardwork and creative thinking. Though I don't think I could get pass the planning stages of anything. I'm kind of afraid of cutting pieces too small or not knowing if the seam allowance for each piece is the same.

I've never cosplayed, but then I've never gone to a con either. I have trouble picking a character that I like enough to dress up as that I would also look decent in the costume.
I'm on idea #3 for cosplaying in club this Thurs. Idea 1 was killed by hair physics, 2 by lack of an appropriate shirt. I need 1 piece for my current choice. I found 2 possibilities so far but I'm hoping to find something in between the 2 that would be more acurate.

I love to cosplay! I always feel like I try to experience the character versus just dressing like them... I attempt to behave as they would. It's always great to see how well people do theirs and I am a total convention cosplay picture whore but at the core of it... I just get to be someone else for a day!
