For those of you who can't wait til Mini Con, here's the inside scoop. Chico Mini Con will be held April 25th at Plumas (presently not finalized) from 5pm to 10pm. Set-up starts at 3pm. Clean-up til it's done. The forum is set for taking volunteers and sign-up spots, but presently doesn't have the art contest rules. Please use the previous rules as a gauge until the official rules are posted (you can find this on the 2007 board or on CBC's website). The big new events are Mu Alpha Xi is going to be doing a martial arts demonstration, an area designated for tabletop gaming, and anime showing rooms.

There is no set date for booth sign ups but allow one day for confirmation and there are general rules for echii/sexual content; as long as you don't let under aged persons see it it is alright
For the full and specific rules see the Mini Con forum post on Artist Alley and Swap Meet
and if it is your own work i suggest you apply for an artist alley booth because it is your own Artist are allowed to sell their artwork if they want

I just want to say thanks to all you members who help set up, run and clean up this event. I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed a good portion of your time at Chico Mini Con. I enjoyed the event and am happy that this year ran much smoother than last year.
If everyone who has pictures of the event, please post it (preferably on the mini con forum) and/or give us copies. And soon we'll have digital copies to give out. If you want any pics we have, just sent us a request via jac.csuchico@gmail.com.

Yeah, the Mini Con seemed to have gone well. You know, except for Sam and Sean being 45 minutes late and Rachael being OVER AN HOUR late. (We were supposed to start setting up at 3pm.)

Like you are one to complain. I'm sorry but your biggest duty was helping with mini con and getting it ready as well yet you only showed up to 3 of the meetings and 1 officer meeting. Rachael showed up to every meeting and Sam and I only missed one. Sean even managed to make it to more meetings than you and did more work for mini con too. We managed to get everything set up on time so I don't see why you have such a big problem with it.

Dude that's messed up. You get mad at them when you never showed up to any of the prep meetings. You even stopped attending JAC meetings. You were in the Dead Pixel Society room doing math crap when they had meetings. All of a sudden it's time for Mini-Con and you think you're the only person who cares. Come on. Don't get pissed 'cause they were late one time when you hardly ever showed up to set things up. You made a schedule for events and that was pretty much it. Just shove it okay?

ARGH!! That was the problem. I didn't care much about the MiniCon. There's a reason I didn't attend the first one. I had things that were more important to do. I wanted to be an officer to help with the management of the JAC. I had less power than a normal member in that regard. Also, I hadn't mentioned that you, Mark, were also quite late (30 min, or so). Poor Joshua had been told to arrive at 2pm. I can only imagine how he felt.
As for me not being in the club room: homework is more important that watching episodes of a series of which I missed the first four episodes. Also, for the vast majority of the time spent in the MiniCon meetings, I wasn't important. There was one late meeting where the other officers told me it was extremely important for me to attend. Do you know what we did? We voted on the art contest winners. Definitely "extremely important" for me to be there.
For the record, I'm not claiming that anyone else did less work than I did. I know there was a lot of prep-work of which I did next to none. Nor am I claiming that anyone involved is inferior to anyone else. I just believe that the people in charge/with the equipment should be on time to an event.
The early meetings weren't scheduled until the day they were supposed to being held. I refused to drop everything at a moment's notice, and I was treated with some disdain because of that choice. That atmosphere is one reason I avoided the later meetings.
Anyway, the MiniCon is over, I've resigned, and the semester is soon ending. Things will continue. Best of luck on next year's MiniCon. Unfortunately, I've probably effectively exiled myself from the company of the leadership of the JAC. That's the way things go.

Yes, I was 15 minutes late but if you had attended the officer meetings, you would have known that not everyone could start exactly at 3. Sam knew she had a class way in advance and she said she would be late. Sean was coming with her so it would be dumb for him to come for a few minutes then leave. Rachael found out a week or so before mini con that she had a mid-term and would not be able to skip her class like she had been planning to do. The only one who didn't have a valid excuse. I lost track of time and I apologize for that. You were the only one who seemed like they were running around with their head cut off.
For the missing four episodes, do what other members do and try to get them from an officer or ask what happened. We normally are pretty nice about it. With not being important during mini con meetings, make yourself important. I wasn't important but I made sure that my voice got heard and by doing that, I made myself important. It also was important that you showed up to the art contest judging. Every vote counts and if we had been missing you, we would have had an even number of voters and would have had ties for first.
If you noticed, the equipment wasn't as necessary when we first started setting up because we had to get the rooms arranged in order to accommodate the equipment. I felt it came at just the right time and we didn't have much sitting around doing nothing time.
Wha..? The early meetings were talked about two weeks in advance. If you had bothered coming to the JAC officers meetings when we needed you, you would have known this. Unfortunately, you have this amazing ability to disappear when you are needed. So you basically decided to not come to meetings because you didn't want people pointing out this characteristic?
Yes, Mini Con is over and it seemed to go well but things could have been smoother. I wish you had taken your position a bit more seriously and spent some time with Mini Con. I wasn't there for your interviews but based on what I heard during mine, you should have known that Mini Con would be a big part of any officer position and would likely be Xayoutic. Well that's enough from me for now. Hope you don't judge me too harshly but you have greatly angered me and I am trying to be as civil as I can while still getting my point across.
