Hokay so, we all have those animes we watched when we were young, maybe too young to realize what an "anime" truly was. Answer the questions below to I can gather some data for possible future marathon.
Remember: you don't have to agree with each other, but be nice.
1. What was the first anime you ever saw? 2. What is your favorite anime that you remember prior to 2005? 3. Why does that anime hold a dear place in your heart? 4. Would you like to watch it without the slaughter known as American dubbing?

1. Robotech 2. Robotech, Evangelion 3. Robotech is just amazing. Evangelion was the first one I watched knowing that it was an anime. Made sure to watch it every Sunday on channel 10. Also the first time I watched a subbed anime although it was only because I had to. 4. I would love to see the original Macross and I do plan on buying it at some point.

1. Either the movie Little Nemo, or My Neighbor Totoro 2. Evangelion. Pokemon don't count. 3. Great childhood memories really. For all three of them. 4. Other than Evangelion, the English dubs were REALLY good. I actually like English dubs about half the time.

1. I'm almost certain it was Guyver. Being five at the time I was scared out of my mind. 2. Digimon. 3. It could have been another generic Pokemon ripoff. It should have been. It ends in "mon" for crying out loud. But it wasn't. The characters were awesome, the music was epic, the story was intense, the villains were threatening. And it had a really story. 4. Hey, the dub was good.

1. By most definitions, DBZ... in Spanish. Not a real good way to start. I also remember Voltron from when I was a kid but it's pretty hazy. 2. Trigun. 3. For the first time I can recall, the anime really shifted genre partway through and just sucked me in. One theme that twisted the genre and really set the tone for the latter part of the series, I have always been a fan of. No spoilers. Also my first two cosplays ever in life were Trigun characters. 4. American dubs were actually tolerable for Trigun but it wasn't the way I originally watched the series. I still prefer it in Japanese.

1. Doraemon, dubbed in Mandarin Chinese. I know I said Sailor Moon during my VERY FIRST meeting in 2010. But that's cause I totally forgot about it, I swear. 2. Sailor Moon, before I thought their dubbing was horrible. After that, Pokemon, Digimon seasons 1&2, Fighting Foodon, Fruits Basket, and what else, hmm... I guess that's all that's come to mind so far. 3. Pokemon = cute, with personalities, Digimon I consider their "competition". Sailor Moon, mystical stuff, not necessarily their magical girl genre. What I do love the most about this show however, is their love life going on between various sailor scouts, most importantly Usagi and Endymon. Fruits Basket, is their morphism--the ability to morph into other things just like SM, but in this case, their animals. 4. I've gotten used to Japanese voices with English subtitles (or Chinese for that matter), so of course I would prefer it. But I will make a few exceptions if and only if the English dubs are exceptional.
A little old, but, I though it would be interesting to see whom else would be able to post their posts, now that it's the new semester.
