Day: Saturday, September 17th Time: 11am Place: One Mile Park
Hey all, as a great way to start off the semester and kick back with old and new club faces, we're having a potluck BBQ at One Mile Park (Lower Bidwell). The best way to look for us is we're going to be between the pool and the softball field, if you get lost. Everyone please post what you plan on bringing so we have an idea of what will be there. We'll need people to bring: meat, side dishes, drinks, ice, plates, condiments, dessert, etc. Charcoal is needed too. If you wish, be creative! We've had a cat carved from a watermelon once. Here's a map of where we'll be:

Should we make a list of what to bring so we will know what we need so we don't bring too many or little of the item?

That's what this thread is specifically for; to inform, and to collect specifics for the BBQ.
I'm planning to experiment with a new marinade, so I'll have one meat dish, but there's still room for variety if others want to bring meat, such as for burgers and whatnot.
Full list of suggestions is in the initial post of this thread.

So I'm guessing we're using one of the grills at the park then or someone bringing their own then?

I can try to bring some charcoal. However, I got to see if I can make it there first.

Hopefully by then I'll make enough time to make it this year instead of lazing around. I think something nice, cold and homemade will do.

Sadly, I wont be able to make it this time around. I have work till 3:30. Should stuff still be going on around that time let me know so I can make it for whatever is going on.

Do we need to save it for four weeks like last time when I made those butterscotch sugar cookies?

@ commie: I think it was more like 2 months that those cookies remained in the box....sadly only Mark and I were crazy enough to try them...they held up just fine.
@ emlee: Of course more can always be made, but then I can get some of the first and second batch. Plus if they are brought too much people will begin to expect them everytime....hhmmmm *plotting*

hmmmm well i will put it out there, i can do baked goods, brownies and muffins too! (but only cookies on the 17th for now, hahaha) it's really inexpensive to bake at home rather than buying a box at the store anyways

We got to get Commie to make some more cookies and go for three months this time, instead of just 2. ANd emlee, my vote is for chocolate chip peanut butter cookies....WOW, I really want a cookie now. I think I know what I will be doing this weekend.

Hoping I can come (and actually participate in more stuff this semester), but I'm hosting a visiting dojo from Reno that weekend, so it'll depend whether they are still practicing or not. I'll wait to commit to food until I know that schedule...
